The NRF Foundation and Qurate Retail Group recently partnered together to shine a light on small businesses impacted by the economic challenges of COVID-19 through the Small Business Spotlight Initiative which highlighted 20 small retailers nationwide (including Richmond’s own, Saxon Shoes) who have built extraordinary businesses while serving their communities.
With the help of the NRF Foundation, Qurate Retail Group is looking to expand on the success and reach of the Spotlight program and aid the fight against racial injustice. We believe the retail industry has an important role to play as a voice for change in the face of racism and injustice in our country.
The next wave of the Spotlight program will highlight 20 Black-owned small businesses with exceptional stories to showcase on their platforms over the course of this summer and fall. Companies can submit their expression of interest here.
Qurate Retail Group has offered to feature selected small businesses on the following on-air, digital, and social platforms:
- Twice weekly 2-4-minute live segments, on QVC and HSN main channels
- Live show content repurposed on streaming services (ROKU and Amazon Fire) and social channels such as YouTube
- A podcast interview with each small business
- Digital landing page profiling each small business on QVC.com and HSN.com
- A culmination show of all 20 small businesses on QVC3
- Zulily to amplify efforts on its digital channels
Ideal candidates for the program include:
Qurate Retail Group and NRF Foundation will develop a PR/Media plan and coordinate media opportunities for selected businesses as they arise. Another exciting benefit is Qurate Retail Group will also offer the time and expertise of its talented team members through a Virtual Fellowship – matching 2-3 Qurate Retail Group team members to help solve a business problem. Some examples could include website development, SEO optimization, pricing/sales strategy, or talent restructuring in a down market and planning for the rebound.
Black-owned small retailers are encouraged to apply here. The deadline to apply is July 13, 2020
