Pivot Physical Therapy, a leading provider of physical therapy, sports medicine, and aquatic therapy services, announced an expansion of its services and locations with the acquisition of Tidewater Physical Therapy, an outpatient physical therapy practice. The increase of more than 30 locations across Virginia – including five Aquatic Therapy Centers and three Performance Centers – adds to the largest independent provider in the region, with more than 50 locations in Virginia and nearly 250 locations throughout the East Coast. The deal closed in the Fourth Quarter of 2016.
“Tidewater Physical Therapy is a strong community organization that has an outstanding reputation for providing reliable care with optimal results,” said Pivot CEO Harris Thompson. “With Tidewater, we found a company who shares the same passion, vision, values and philosophy of high-quality care for their patients. Their focus on patient-centered care, coupled with their clinical expertise and excellent outcomes, makes them a perfect fit with Pivot Physical Therapy.”
“We are honored to continue to serve the communities we love in Virginia, now as part of Pivot,” said Tidewater Founder and President Wayne A. MacMasters, PT, MSPT. “We opened our doors in 1986, and for 31 years we have been dedicated to clinical excellence. That does not change. We are thrilled to continue to provide a physical therapy environment where patients feel the same welcome they have always felt and the same service and care they have known for generations. While we have formed a single company, we remain hometown therapists providing world-class physical therapy where our patients live, work, and play.”
