The Security & Loss Prevention Association (SLPA) is a professional organization that provides opportunities for members to enhance their knowledge and experience in the areas of security and loss prevention through related programs, problem solving, the interchange of ideas and the exchange of technical information.
Objectives
- To keep members informed on legislation involving the protection of customers, property and other assets.
- To gather and distribute information and data on loss prevention subjects.
- To work closely with law enforcement agencies to resolve common loss prevention problems in the best interest of the members.
- To provide meaningful programs for the benefit of the entire group.

Membership
The Security & Loss Prevention Association is an individual membership organization. There are four classifications of membership:
- Regular Members: Professional management level loss-prevention personnel, or individuals who by the broad interpretation of their job are directly or indirectly accountable for loss-prevention, who are actively employed by a member company of the Retail Merchants Association. Regular Members are invited to all membership meetings.
- Associate Members: Actively employed professional management level loss-prevention personnel, or individuals who by the broad interpretation of their job are directly or indirectly accountable for loss-prevention, whose companies are not members of the Retail Merchants Association. Associate Members are invited to all membership meetings.
- Affiliate Members: Professional law enforcement personnel appointed by the Chiefs of police from the represented jurisdictions. Affiliate Members are invited to all membership meetings.
- Vendor Members: Representatives of supplier, technology or equipment companies who have the capacity to be involved with the loss-prevention industry in a method beneficial to the membership. Vendor Members are invited to all membership meetings, unless otherwise noted by the Program Committee or the Board of Directors.
Dues
- Affiliate Members: None
- Regular Members: $30
- Associate Members: $60
- Vendor Members $90
