Greater Richmond Chapter of Red Cross to Recognize National CPR/AED Awareness Week

June 1–7

Every profession carries some degree of risk; injuries and sudden illness can occur in any workplace. Learning CPR and use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) may mean the difference between life and death for a victim of sudden cardiac arrest. During National CPR/AED Awareness Week, June 1-7, 2010 the Greater Richmond Chapter of the Red Cross urges RMA members to learn these lifesaving skills and provide training for their staff.

With CPR/AED everyone has the power to possibly save a life. It’s literally at their fingertips. Learn some basic skills and go from being a helpless bystander to trained, empowered and prepared to take action and help in an emergency at work or at home.

The Red Cross offers a variety of first aid, CPR/AED and injury prevention products and programs help your business meet OSHA/ANSI guidelines and prepare your staff treat injuries, sudden illness and possibly to save lives. Courses are available in English and Spanish, and you can add training in Blood borne Pathogens (BBP) and disaster preparedness topics if you wish.

Anyone can save a life—the Red Cross can show you how. Contact Bob Swain at 780-2286 or swainb@usa.redcross.org to find out more about CPR/AED training for your business.
