April is National Donate Life Month!
The Retail Merchants Association has partnered with the Donate Life Partnership—which comprises United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS based in Richmond, VA), Donate Life America, LifeNet Health, Old Dominion Eye Foundation, Minority Organ Tissue Transplantation Education Program (MOTTEP), and the National Kidney Foundation to increase awareness and encourage Organ Donation.
RMA member businesses can offer information to your employees, customers and families. You’ll find more information including downloadable collateral at http://www.retailmerchants.com/retailers-4life.asp. You may also contact Preston Perrin, pperrin@retailmerchants.com ,804-662-5504, and he’ll be happy to answer questions or suggest ways you can get involved. Printed sign-up donor forms are available at the Retail Merchants Association’s offices for your pick up. There is no cost for your business to participate in this worthwhile campaign and you may offer this information in your business all year long.
Organ donation and transplantation saves lives. One organ donor can save 7 lives, restore sight to two people and help many others. Four Virginians die each week waiting for a life-saving organ transplant that doesn’t come in time.

Save: Payroll and a 401(k) Plan Go Better Together
A new Paychex white paper shows how small business owners can save time and money by integrating payroll processing and 401(k) administration. The new white paper, titled “Payroll and a 401(k) Plan Go Better Together,” discusses how bundling payroll with 401(k) services makes sense because the same employee information is required for both processes. As a result, integrating 401(k) with payroll offers a range of advantages—including saving time and money, ensuring greater accuracy, and establishing better security.
