U.S. Army 3 on 3 Summer Hoops Extends Registration Period

 iPod Touch to Best Buy Slam Dunk Contest Winners

Registration for the U.S. Army 3 on 3 Summer Hoops basketball festival at the Dominion Resources Campus at Innsbrook Office Park on July 26-27 has been extended to 11:59 p.m., Wednesday, July 23rd.

Teams will be bracketed by skill and age level for male, female and co-ed options at age levels for Youth (ages 8-13); High School (grades 9-12) and adult (ages 18 & up) and in Standard and Elite Divisions. 

In addition to the registration extension, prizes for the Best Buy Slam Dunk Contest, which will be held on the Arena Court, have just been announced and they are substantial.  The male and female first place winners will each receive an iPod Touch courtesy of Best Buy.  In addition, Best Buy will raffle off a 50-inch plasma television with proceeds going to Boys and Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Richmond.  The second place male and female dunkers will each receive a one-year membership to American Family Fitness. The Arena Court will also host the Chick-fil-A Cluck ‘n Chuck Contest in which one lucky attendee through a random drawing. If they can make one lay-up shot, one free throw shot, and one half-court shot in 30 seconds or less they’ll win a free Chick-Fil-A meal per week for an entire year.
