Richmond Virginia, are you ready for another action packed NFL season?
Well let’s start this NFL season off right by coming out and supporting the Washington Redskins during their training camp July 24th 2014 thru August 11th 2014.
During this action packed three week period, fans will get to experience a great family friendly environment, as First year Head Coach, Jay Gruden and the Washington Redskins prepare for the upcoming season in the grueling NFC East.Throughout the training camp fans will be granted free entry to all practice sessions and have the opportunity to watch your favorite Redskin players and coaches.
During Fan Appreciation day, August 2nd, where fans have the opportunity to interact with players like Robert Griffin III, Alfred Morris and the newly acquired explosive Wide Receiver, DeSean Jackson. Also fans will be able to witness future Hall of Fame and three time Super Bowl Champion Quarterback, Tom Brady and the New England Patriots as they join the Redskins for exciting joint practices August 4th through August 6th.
With the undeniable success of last year’s training camp, the City of Richmond and the Washington Redskins look to make this year’s camp even bigger and better. With an estimated 165,000 fans attending last year over the three week period, SMG Richmond will be extending the opportunity to 10 businesses to partner up with us.
As the managers of the official parking facilities during the Washington Redskins training camp, SMG Richmond will add your businesses logo to the parking pass distributed at each of the SMG managed lots. This opportunity will be based on first come first served basis. All participants would have to provide some type of a discount opportunity when a parking pass is provided upon entry to your business. All 10 company logos will be featured on the back of the patrons parking pass.
The cost to participate is $200 for Retail Merchant’s member businesses and $250 for all non members. With the camp just under a month away, this will be an excellent opportunity to not only come out to support the Washington Redskins but also to capitalize on the Retail Merchant Association special promotion.

Beginning at 4:00 pm at the Great Shiplock Park in the City of Richmond, volunteers will be picking up litter from the Park along Dock Street and the start of Virginia Capital Trail near 17th Street, continuing to 14th Street and proceeding across Mayo Bridge. Additional areas in the vicinity will be serviced with any excess volunteers. Following the cleanup at 6:00 pm, they are welcoming participants to share in the success at a celebratory gathering at Bottom’s Up Pizza.
John Deuel, the recently retired Recycling Coordinator for the City of Norfolk and Keep Norfolk Beautiful, has been riding his bike across America since early April to raise funds and awareness for Keep America Beautiful and bicycle safety for kids. “I am thrilled to be able to ride into Richmond as our awareness and fundraising campaign,” says Deuel.
With the World Road Cycling Championships coming to Richmond in September 2015, the Virginia Capital Trail and the numerous biking initiatives growing, KVB is hoping to capitalize on the biking craze that has enveloped the RVA region. They are encouraging cycling enthusiasts and area citizens to come out and volunteer to help make a difference in the City of Richmond and beyond. Volunteers are encouraged to register at email@example.com. (Please bring gloves; vests and grabbers will be available).
