Now in its second straight year, this 2 day festival stretching from July 19th-20th will play host to 12 local and regional bands encompassing a wide range of musical genres.
The event is free to the public and will feature multiple food vendors including fresh oysters from Anderson’s Neck Oyster Company.
This year, the bands will be battling it out for their charity of choice with COTU matching the winner’s funds for the same charity. The RVA Makers will also be on hand to display their artisan works. This is a rain or shine event with 2 expansive 900 sq ft tents on hand.
This Friday, May 30, is Farmer’s Market time at Urban Farmhouse in Church Hill. They’ll have Lickinghole Creek Brewery, Yohman’s Garden Salsa, Health Warrior as well as a farmer’s market and activities. They will also have live music from Ken Bowie.
Don’t miss this budding community event at Urban Farm House.
Trenton puts up 52 points against error-prone Raiders.
This opener was almost as sad as last years. In 2013, the Raiders had a 42 point loss to the eventual champion Alabama Hammers. Although they were hoping for better to start to the 2014 campaign, they received similar results as they faced Trenton Freedom (52-17).
Richmond got a spark from special teams in the fourth quarter. Kevin Allen returned a blocked extra point for two, and Gerron “Scooby” Bryant had two kickoff returns totaling 79 yards. Both returned led to Raider touchdowns, but they came too late to make a difference.
The Raiders‘ home opener will be April 12 in a Championship Game rematch against the Alabama Hammers. Single game and group event tickets are now on sale at the Raiders’ website, www.RichmondRaidersProFootball.com, and the Raiders’ hotline at 804.780.0430. Tickets start at just $7, and lower level tickets are on a Buy 2, Get 1 Free special for Opening Night.
